Guest Book Reviews

My partner and I stayed 5 nights on the property and it was one of the best hidden gems I’ve ever found. The energy of the house made us feel relaxed, excited, and creative which is something special. It allowed us to slow down and appreciate little things that we may not normally notice. As a creative person myself I felt that the home was designed and styled with the perfect balance of being lived in, while still feeling clean. There was never a moment where the space felt cluttered and small, as everything you needed was accessible. To stay somewhere secluded, yet safe, away from the hustle and bustle of Deia; I’d happily recommend this home to you. The walk up to town is a lovely one, motioning you to stop and admire the trees, sheep, goats and views of the Cala below. I love how this Mallorca area feels untouched by any tourism infrastructure / gift shops. You’re truly left to be on your own within the nature around you. We dreamt of owning this home for ourselves, Its special.

Beautiful villa high up on the cliffs above Cala Deia. We really enjoyed walking up and down to the beach from the house with our two children. Oona’s home is beautifully decorated; we really enjoyed all the artwork and books. The kitchen has everything you need to make meals at home overlooking the ocean. The outdoor shower was great after walking up from the beach. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us Oona!

The villa is incredible.. one of the best Airbnb’s I’ve ever seen! Rustic and filled with character and charm. The location is incredible, we walked down to Cala Deia and Llucalcari daily, and also started hikes right from the villa. It is very well equipped for cooking, lots of books to read and a great place to relax and spend time. The views are amazing, especially at sunset. Bedrooms were very comfortable, especially the main bedroom was absolutely lovely, waking up to views of the sea and hearing the waves at night. Oona was a great host and very communicative. Things to note: the path down to the beach is quite rocky and wouldn’t be suited to less mobile people, very elderly etc in my opinion. The villa was also reliant on tank water due to the drought in Mallorca at the time, so we had to have short showers etc. Stay here if you are looking for a beautiful rustic charming villa by the sea, not if you’re looking for accessibility and luxury. We absolutely loved it!

Very nice two-week stay at Villa Magda that allowed us to enjoy the north coast of Mallorca. Very nice view above the Cala Deia, easily accessible on foot. The outdoor shower is very pleasant. Plenty of places to rest around the house. Very quiet. We didn't meet Oona but we had her on the phone several times. Very responsive in the face of a problem beyond his control, she resolved everything extremely quickly thanks to the intervention of her neighbour, whom we also thank. We can only recommend Villa Magda to enjoy a beautiful seaside environment on a beautiful coastline.

Oona’s place was in an amazing location, even better than described. We loved being able to slow down and relax in the back patio overlooking the ocean and have full kitchen facilities to really settle in. The view from the main bedroom is also incredible, we wish we could wake up to that every day! Oona was great at communicating before and during our stay. We will definitely be back!! Thank Oona!

It has been a great privilege to have stayed at Oona's magical house. Hearing the waves from Cala Deia, smelling the scents of thyme, mint and rosemary. Flock of sheep with bells passing the house at dusk. Being able to cook in the well-equipped kitchen. Adventurous walks down to the nice restaurants by the beach. A memory for life. Thanks!

There are no words to describe the beauty of this villa. We didn’t want to leave. Everything was perfect - the view, the interiors, the location. There is nothing negative about this Airbnb. It’s magical!!!

What a truly magical place with a lovely atmosphere and great views. Cosy feeling inside with a great book collection and a warm stove. Lots of different seating areas outside to take advantage of the sun path. Lovely walks to Cala Deia (bring cash to the fab restaurant) and up the valley to Deia. One of the best places we’ve stayed in - ever! Thanks Oona

The location of Villa Magda is gorgeous, with amazing views. Perfect for peace and quiet. Having a car is a good idea because of the remote location. A small car would be preferable as the road is narrow in spots and not in the best of condition. Definitely drivable if you go slowly. If you come during the winter months as we did be prepared to build a fire in the stove for warmth. The history of the Villa is interesting and lots of books and pictures to check out. We were fortunate to have a full moon which enhanced the beauty of the night sky. We enjoyed the hike down to Cala Deia…again spectacular views.

I am lying here in the garden of Villa Magda, looking out to sea, as I write this. I am most definitely in heaven!

The views are amazing and the outdoor grill was so much fun to cook on. The only thing better than the quaint house, with it’s nooks and crannies, the yard full of beautiful herbs and trees: falling asleep to the waves crashing into the rocks below; and watching the sun set into the Mediterranean are the lasting memories that our family will take back to the U.S. with the hopes of a return in the near future.

Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home with our family! The view is stunning! We loved all aspects of this house, including yacht watching from the patio to the comfortable beds to a great day at the beach.

I can honestly say I’ve never been on holiday before and wished I didn’t bring any books with me! The library, along with the fantastically equipped kitchen and all the herbs and spices make this much less like staying in a “holiday cottage” than being allowed to borrow someone’s home. Ant that’s before we even get on to the location!

Your house is wonderful indeed, I could spend the entire time just relaxing on the terrace. Piotra. For us Villa Magda is a very special place and being here the third time, it’s becoming a little bit a home; It’s good falling asleep with the crashing of the waves in the rocks below, waking up with the view our of the sleeping rooms window in the morning. Thanks for sharing this place.

What a dream it has been to spend our first anniversary here at Villa Magda. Its charm elevating beyond the walls and so evident through the worldly Knick knacks to be admired all over the villa.

We had a fantastic week here. We spent glorious hours sitting outside listening to the sea/ The peace and quiet has been restorative after a difficult few months, so thank you for sharing this extraordinary place with us. We hope to be back!

Thank you so much for sharing Villa Magda. We are all entranced. Apart from the astonishing setting, the villa is steeped in an atmosphere and history of Deia in the 1960 s/70’s which is so fascinating and comforting.

Thank you again for letting us stay in this small area of paradise. Again, most of the crowds were gone, the sun traversing lower in the sky and this time a huge thunderstorm that whipped up the sea for two days. Books were read, walks abundant and quiet restful evenings, magical.

Staying at Villa Magda was exactly what we needed. The total physical and spiritual detox!

Our stay at the cottage was wonderful. The views are amazing and the road down added a welcome level of adventure. The cottage was clean, water pressure is great and the bed was super comfortable. It was the perfect place for us to explore the surrounding villages while having our own gorgeous part of the island. The Cala de Deia is so beautiful and just a short walk down from the cottage. We hope to stay at Villa Magda next time we're in Mallorca.

What a wonderful place. The house sits atop a cliff with an amazing view of the sea. Walk in one direction for views of the mountains and sheep grazing on the terraced hills, and walk in another direction towards the jagged cliffs and colorful coves along the Mediterranean. The house is lovely and welcoming and Oona is a devoted and thoughtful host. Our stay could not have been better.

The magical, hypnotic view perched above Cala de Deià coupled with the rhythmic song of the sea would be enough to draw me back to this wonderful paradise. The warmth and soul of Oona’s house took us in like family, it’s spell deepening as the week went on. We parked our car on arriving Saturday afternoon and it never moved until the following Friday when it was sadly time to leave for the airport. We did hike over 40 miles and happily feel the island in our sinews and bones. The memories generated this week will last a lifetime.

“Pure enchantment!
What a privilege to stay in Oona's indescribably beautiful and peaceful home in a setting that truly surpasses any hope or expectation you could have of a perfect week in Deià. The photos are stunning but still can't capture breathtaking beauty, peace and magic of this extremely unique place. After driving down a secret rugged road through gorgeous olive and citrus groves, with sheep grazing peacefully and seagulls circling overhead, you arrive practically at the water's edge where a final foot path leads you to this house of wonders that you will never want to leave. The views not just from the lovely garden but from the house itself are breathtaking and you can literally hear the waves in the Cala as you drift off to sleep at night. The house is super cosy and has everything you could possibly need if you love to cook - or barbecue! - as we do and the bed (from which you have an amazing sea view) is incredibly comfortable. Even in November the weather was mild enough to enjoy morning coffee and dinner on the front porch. There are little corners everywhere inside and out for resting and reading a book (there is a phenomenal library of books in the house - so inspiring!) or just for gazing out at the panoramic views. Less than 10 minutes walk has you down at the Cala or off to enjoy the wonderful hiking trails. And downtown Deià is literally 5 minutes away by car but you could also walk there. Oona was a warm and thoughtful host and the communication was excellent from start to finish. I absolutely loved her guide to her home and to the area which was full of great local and insider tips and helped us to get even more out of our time there. This is such an inviting and personal place and a unique opportunity to experience something more than a generic AirBnb stay. Deeply restful, inspiring, uplifting, immersed in nature, magical, cosy ... a perfect combination.
I highly recommend it.
Thank you for everything Oona! We hope to return very soon.”
